The Gold Coast Film Festival is now underway, and there’s still a packed program of events for cinema lovers to look forward to.

Now in its tenth year, the festival celebrates the very best of local and international film culture over almost two weeks of special screenings, premiers, seminars, workshops and presentations. As always, this year’s festival will be shining a special spotlight on the Gold Coast’s own burgeoning cinema scene and will be showcasing three of the best recent films made right here in Queensland, as well as a handful of great shorts from local filmmakers. Festival attendees can catch little known gems from everywhere from Greenland to South Korea, with something across all genres including a selection of documentaries.

The beautiful Southport Broadwater Parklands, not far from our Gold Coast Broadwater accommodation, will once again be showing a number of completely free outside screenings of family friendly films such as Oakie’s Outback Adventure, an animated adventure sure to capture the hearts of kids and adults alike.
