As the year ends, you know you should already be getting ready for one of the biggest events in Australia come the month of January. If you’re not originally from the Land Down Under and you’re completely unaware of what special day this is, it’s Australia Day.
Celebrated every January 26, this National Day of Australia is the commemoration of the arrival of the First Fleet of British Ships in 1788 at Port Jackson, New South Wales, and when Governor Arthur Philip raised the Flag of Great Britain at the site.
If you want to celebrate this eventful day with the Aussies, why not do it by joining an exciting community event on the Gold Coast?
Join the Slater and Gordon Burleigh Swim Run happening January 26, 2016 at Burleigh Lifeguard Headquarters, and make this wonderful day as memorable as the Aussies’.
